About Us
In the beginning
Aspire Media & Design Ltd is a Christchurch, New Zealand company that's been around a long time but was previously known as Online-design ltd.
Scott Fraser runs this company and has been in the website design and website development business for 6+ consecutive years. Initially he became interested in the design side of things back in 1998 when he purchased his first Apple computer and started learning Adobe Photoshop™ 3 this led on to other graphic design tools like Coreldraw™, Adobe Illustrator™, Adobe Flash™.
Nowadays Scott isn't self taught, he's a qualified website designer and a qualified website developer, back in 2001 he started out on his own under the name Online-design doing contract work to other companies and servicing his own clients need for websites and print.
Perseverance pays off.
Back in days of the dot com crashes in the U.S. (covering roughly 1995–2001) New Zealand went through a cautious period where website design was slow because businesses weren't sure what was going to happen, so Scott had to make a choice, he decided to keep servicing his existing clients and took on a job as a Course coordinator at "ATC Vision college" teaching Web Design and Programming. The disciplines Scott taught on this course were: ASP (classic), SQL, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, Programming Concepts and best practices, Photoshop 6, Vector art, Website Design Concepts and Creative principles.
Then he moved to "Natcoll Design and technology College" where he ran a similar course but with more of a focus on programming in PHP 5.0, MySQL, JavaScript, Standards compliant code with CSS and HTML as well as Photoshop CS2 and Creative practices.
After nearly 6 years of balancing teaching and his own clients Scott decided it was time to get back into the industry and focus on strengthening his client base which is how the name "Aspire Media & Design Ltd" was born, as now he has new Aspiratons!
What we do best!!
Working with Small to Medium businesses is what his team do best! We customise CMS systems so that clients can update websites for themselves. We maintain existing websites for clients that need a cooperative website management company. We create from scratch unique brandings for companies whether it's in website design, print or other media.
The "Us" part of About Us
Is a group of very talented young web designers and web programmers that Scott works with. As a teacher he has seen many very talented and gifted students, after they graduate Scott gives them a leg up by offering them small jobs to see how they fair. Some will survive to get more work and others won't "It's all in the attitude, talent is God given".
The folks that do survive have to prove themselves fit for the work force which is hard when the industry is asking for a minimum of three years experience, so Scott gives them the grounding and the experience they need, they are chosen from the top of the class so their skills are all there and they bring a fresh and exciting creativity that's so necessary in modern websites.
This is just one of the key factors that gives "Aspire Media & Design Ltd" an advantage in the market place as well as years of experience in multiple disciplines.
